Ch. 01 — The Pull North
Tim's path has always pointed toward demanding terrain and a life spent entirely outdoors. Born in Belgium, he built his early professional foundation as a climbing and industrial rope access instructor before chasing an adventurous mountain life in the French Alps as a sponsored steepskier, living and breathing big mountain terrain and multi-sport extremes. But the pull of raw, northern landscapes — where steep mountains and a wild sea collide — ultimately drew him to Norway. After guiding skiing and kayaking out of Tromsø, he founded Senja Wild on the outer coast of Northern Norway before eventually settling in Lofoten, where he now lives and runs Lofoten Wild and the Lofoten Kayak School. That trajectory says everything about who Tim is: someone who continually moves toward the most challenging, inspiring environments the planet has to offer.
Ch. 02 — Credentials
Tim's leadership on the water is backed by a lifetime of rigorous technical mastery. He holds the kayak industry's highest-tier professional certifications, including ISKGA Advanced Guide Trainer, Paddle UK Advanced Sea Kayak Leader, and the Norwegian Canoe Union's Veileder Hav. That marine expertise translates directly to the high latitudes, where he leads teams of sea kayak guides on polar expeditions in Antarctica and the Arctic — specializing in technical small-boat handling, RIB operations, and sea kayak guiding in the world's most remote environments. When he isn't training professional guides or running expeditions, you'll find him right back where it started — chasing surf in his kayak.

Ch. 03 — On Snow and On Water
Tim's background as an accomplished randonnée athlete gave him a lifelong fluency in reading lines and terrain — and on the water, the Edge Alnes delivers that exact same feeling. It demands the same edge-to-edge control, the same precise read of moving water, and the same instinct for a line. Whether he is threading a technical tidal race on the Norwegian coast or dropping into a heavy surf zone, the Alnes responds the way a high-performance kayak should under a demanding guide.
Ch. 04 — Why the Edge Alnes
A sea kayak designed with more surf in its character than any other sea kayak on the market, in the hands of someone who lives in demanding tidal and ocean conditions. For Tim, the Alnes is an essential professional tool: its unmatched maneuverability provides quick responses and safety when conditions turn, and its speed easily keeps pace with a standard group of sea kayakers. But above all, it's about always keeping the fun in guiding — whether that means sneaking away for a quick side surf or making the ocean your playground. We are genuinely excited to see where that takes him.
