Tim Vanhoutteghem
joins the team.

Tim was born in Belgium, grew up in the French Alps, and eventually followed the pull of wild coastlines north to Senja — an island off the coast of Northern Norway where he now lives, guides, and runs his company Senja Wild. That journey says something about who Tim is: someone who moves toward the most demanding environments he can find.

He has been sea kayaking since 2014 and holds some of the highest guiding qualifications available — ISKGA Advanced Guide Trainer, British Canoeing 5-star Advanced Sea Kayak Leader, and the Norwegian Canoe Union's Veileder Hav. He guides polar expeditions in Antarctica and the Arctic, and on his days off, he chases surf.

Tim is also an accomplished randonnée athlete — and on the water, the Edge Alnes delivers that same feeling. The same edge-to-edge control, the same read of moving water, the same instinct for a line. Whether he is threading a tidal race on the Norwegian coast or dropping into a surf zone, the Alnes responds the way a performance kayak should.
